Hello.
Information must be protected throughout its entire lifecycle.
And when it is no longer needed, we must also ensure that it is disposed of properly.
Their classification and sensitivity remain important even in this final phase.
Just because information is no longer useful does not mean it no longer needs protection.
Situations such as:
- Abandoned paper documents,
- Information discarded without being destroyed,
- Files that were deleted incorrectly,
They may remain accessible to unauthorized individuals, which could lead to unauthorized access or leaks of sensitive information.
When the information is no longer needed, it must be deleted to prevent potential unauthorized access.
To do this, always use:
- the corporate media,
- the specialized services provided by the organization,
in accordance with the guidelines established for its classification and the medium on which it is stored.
Remember: Information must be protected throughout its entire lifecycle.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If, despite complying with all these measures, you encounter situations that do not conform to the level of security required or established in internal policies, do not hesitate to inform your line manager, the Security Manager, security personnel and/or the IT department, depending on the type of suspicion.
If it happens to you on a personal level, report it directly to the police authorities, so that they can give you appropriate advice and conduct an investigation.
