SECURE&TIP: INFORMATION LIFECYCLE

This entry is also available in:

Hello.

In our recent tips, we’ve looked at various ways to protect the information we work with every day.

We’ve discussed identifying valuable information, sharing it, storing it, and securely deleting it or deciding what to do with it when it is no longer needed.

All of these actions are part of a single goal: to keep information secure throughout its entire lifecycle.

Information can be found in various formats and accessed through different tools and channels.

Whether it’s in:

  • documents,
  • emails,
  • corporate repositories or
  • artificial intelligence tools,

We must protect it properly at all times.

Because information security depends on the decisions we make throughout the information’s entire lifecycle.

Protecting information on a day-to-day basis is everyone’s responsibility.

To do this, we must follow the guidelines and recommendations established by the organization to properly identify, use, and protect it.

And if we have any questions, we should consult with the appropriate managers or support departments.

Remember: Information must be protected throughout its entire lifecycle.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If, despite complying with all these measures, you encounter situations that do not conform to the level of security required or established in internal policies, do not hesitate to inform your line manager, the Security Manager, security personnel and/or the IT department, depending on the type of suspicion.

If it happens to you on a personal level, report it directly to the police authorities, so that they can give you appropriate advice and conduct an investigation.
