Continuing with our Secure & Trivial of Secure & IT, and as we already told you in TIP 358 of March 21, today’s question is related to fraudulent software and false applications.
We remind you again of the rules of this game, so that you can get an additional cyber gift at the end of the year:
Secure & Trivial is based on a series of practical security tips that will be issued until the end of the year (10 TIPS in total). The objective of these TIPS is to allow you to acquire a level of awareness not only by reading, but also by “doing”.
As in the mythical game, we have chosen to divide the different modalities into “quesitos” on which we will propose practices and ask questions, through an online form.
The people who add the most correct answers at the end of the year will receive a cyber gift from Secure & Academy , our Secure & IT Advanced Cybersecurity Training Center.
The themes are those that make up our current 360º Security concept:
SECURE & TRIVIAL QUESTION 2/10 (APRIL):
Again for a blue “cheese”, which of the following options do you consider to be or are fraudulent applications of the FedEx courier company.
- FedExPay
- FedEx Data
- FedEx Mobile
- The official ones are “FedEx Pay” and “FedEx Data” – “FedEx Mobile” would be false.
- The official one is “FedEx Mobile” – “FedEx Pay” and “FedEx Data” would be false.

HINT: Remember that you can use the internet to check which is the real and official FedEx app. In addition, we remind you that, to recognize an official application from a copy, it is usual that two applications cannot be called in the same way. Therefore, different details such as the logo, the colors or meaningless additions to the name, allow us to differentiate the fraudulent from the real one. Also, before downloading a new app that you have never used, it is preferable to check the official website of the company to which it belongs, to make sure you download the correct one.
HELPFUL TIP: If you want to make sure that the mobile applications that you have installed on your devices are totally secure, we recommend using free analysis tools, but that they are duly recognized by organizations such as the National Institute of Cybersecurity in Spain (INCIBE), the National Cryptologic Center ( CCN) or the Internet Security Office (OSI), such as the CONAN mobile program. For more information about this tool and its secure download, see https://www.osi.es/es/conan-mobile.
